He Pito Whakaatu i Te Noho a Te Maori / Scenes of Maori Life
I waenganui i nga tau 1918 ki 1923 i haere noa atu a Te Rangihiroa, Ta Apriana Ngata me James McDonald ki etahi iwi. Ko te kaupapa i penapena te tikanga o i a rohe, iwi ranei. I tautokoua e nga rangatira rongonui. Ko enei taonga he tino tohu rawa o te noho a te Maori mai rano.
With the support of prominent Maori leaders Te Rangi Hiroa (Dr Peter Buck) and Sir Apirana Ngata, James McDonald of the Dominion Museum led expeditions to record Maori life between 1918 and 1923.
After five years of restoration the surviving films were screened together for the first time in 1986.
These taonga are the best record of Maori life of this time.
